How much does GTA 6 cost?
Rockstar has confirmed two editions of Grand Theft Auto VI. The Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition costs $99.99 (US pricing; regional prices vary). Notably, this makes GTA 6 the first mainline Rockstar game to launch above the $70 that has become standard for big releases this generation — a $10 bump that's sparked plenty of debate among fans.
| Standard Edition | $79.99 USD — the complete single-player game |
| Ultimate Edition | $99.99 USD — base game plus exclusive vehicles, weapons, apparel & extra content |
| Pre-orders opened | June 25, 2026 (midnight local time) |
| Pre-order bonus | Vintage Vice City Pack (both editions, if bought before Nov 20, 2026) |
| Digital pre-load | From November 12, 2026 |
| Launch day | November 19, 2026 |
What's the difference between Standard and Ultimate?
The choice is refreshingly simple — there's no five-tier ladder or $250 collector's statue. Just two options:
- Standard ($79.99): the full single-player game featuring Jason, Lucia, and the expanded Vice City region of Leonida. Nothing in the Ultimate Edition is required to play the complete game.
- Ultimate ($99.99): everything in Standard, plus an exclusive collection of premium in-game vehicles, weapons, apparel, and extra content threaded across the story. The $20 premium is entirely digital content — no physical goods.
If you begin with Standard, Rockstar has confirmed you can buy the Ultimate upgrade separately at any time after launch.
What is the Vintage Vice City Pack?
Every pre-order — or any purchase made before November 20, 2026 — includes the Vintage Vice City Pack, a set of throwback items inspired by the neon-soaked original Vice City. Reported contents include a vintage vehicle, a garage property, and period outfits for Jason and Lucia. Because the bonus is tied to ordering early rather than to spending more, even Standard buyers get it. Digital pre-orders on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store also add a free month of GTA+ for use in the current GTA Online.
Where can you pre-order GTA 6?
Pre-orders are live on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft (Xbox) Store for both editions, and at select physical retailers (Standard Edition) — in the US that includes Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Target, and GameStop. Always confirm details on the official Rockstar Games GTA VI page — anyone selling a "GTA 6 PC pre-order" right now is not legitimate, since no PC version has been announced.
Does the physical copy come with a disc?
No — and this caught a lot of people off guard. The physical retail box contains a download code, not a game disc. Rockstar has stated it has no plans for a disc-based release now or later. Both physical and digital buyers can pre-load from November 12 to be ready for the November 19 launch.
Is GTA 6 on Game Pass or PS Plus?
Not at launch, and almost certainly not near it. Rockstar and Take-Two have never launched a mainline GTA on a subscription service at release, and nothing has been announced for GTA 6. Expect to buy it outright.
