GTA 6 on PC

Is Grand Theft Auto VI coming to PC? Here's the honest answer — what Rockstar has confirmed, what it hasn't, and when a PC version is realistically expected.

Is GTA 6 coming to PC?

Almost certainly yes — eventually — but here's the part that matters: Rockstar has not officially announced a PC version of GTA 6. At launch on November 19, 2026, it's a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S title only. There is no PC release date, no PC price, and no official system requirements. Every mainline Rockstar game in recent memory has eventually come to PC, so a PC version is widely expected — it just hasn't been confirmed or dated.

When will GTA 6 come to PC?

No one outside Rockstar knows, but history gives a strong hint. GTA 5 launched on consoles in September 2013 and didn't reach PC until April 2015 — roughly an 18-month gap. If GTA 6 follows a similar pattern from its November 2026 console launch, a PC release would land somewhere in the 2027 to 2028 window. Treat that as an informed estimate, not a promise — Rockstar could move faster or slower this time.

Why isn't GTA 6 on PC at launch?

Rockstar has historically prioritized a polished console launch first, then brought its games to PC later — often with graphical upgrades and enhanced versions. Launching on the two current-gen consoles lets Rockstar optimize for fixed hardware and avoid the complexity of PC's endless configurations at the most critical moment. The PC version tends to come once the initial launch has settled.

Should PC players buy a console for GTA 6?

That's a personal call, and we're not here to tell you how to spend your money. The honest trade-off: buying a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S gets you GTA 6 on day one (November 19, 2026); waiting for PC could mean a year or more, but potentially a more capable version with mods down the line. If you were already considering a current-gen console, GTA 6 is a compelling reason. If you're PC-only and patient, waiting is perfectly reasonable — just don't fall for any "PC pre-order" listings, which are not real.

Beware GTA 6 PC scams

Because demand is enormous and no PC version exists yet, fake "GTA 6 PC pre-order" and "GTA 6 PC download" listings are everywhere. There is no legitimate way to pre-order or buy GTA 6 on PC right now. Anyone offering one is running a scam. Always verify on the official Rockstar Games GTA VI page.
